THE COCONUT ODYSSY
Cherry is climbing, a lizard in white
A ladder that leads her to coconuts
I watch her, fulfilling a long-sought dream
After Bartlett’s departure no more “nots”
Coconuts are nutritious, as she thought
She and her fetus like them as a must
Not fattening, as she confirmed to me
I blessed her efforts, but my eyes were shut
