Ode of a Lonely Physician

Ode of A Lonely Physician

A dog barks outside

A cat also mews

Their noises to me

Are nicer than the news

A patient strolls away

Unhappy with my drugs

If he wants a sick-leave

And I say “no” he shrugs

My chief is insisting

Not to change my old car

But I am always worried

It won’t carry me any far

I am feeling sick today

But I cannot have rest

My nurses always expect me

Healthy, to do my best

Lunch hour is approaching

Hunger is always bad

It dulls one’s sensations

And makes him feel sad

I contemplate and meditate

On the Nature of Things

If justice was ever applied

Why subjects fight with kings?

Amid the heat of last July

My AC went on strike

I roasted in the desert heat

A state no one will like
