Ellen and Luz are busy all day long
Copying files for those who may depart
Luz forgot what makes me happy today
Preoccupied so much with every chart
I waited for tea with lemon in vain
I felt neglected and broken at heart
Before next Christmas, I feel she’ll be gone
Her husband may replace her, and be smart
What makes this World so crazy? I don’t know
Every time I ask I hear no reply
At last an angel came to me at night
And said: “my friend, stop asking how and why!
Your ‘so called’ human race has gone astray
From God’s path, whom they everyday deny
Be human, you are saved, be just you win
Don’t let your feelings or compassion dry
“ Peace Be On Earth “ but never in my life
Although I pray for it, it fills my dreams
But devils and their aids do spoil my hopes
Blocking all paths for Peace, putting off beams
I sit in solitude and contemplate
Why Evil has spread out like meadow streams?
The answer comes back, so painful and true
Because we all forsake God’s way, it seems!
Any man’s death hurts me into the depth
‘Cause we are humans and should always care
Injustice breeds injustice, hate breeds hate
So keep aloft, and hatred never share
Turn your left cheek, but never pull the sword
You prove that you have strength, and that you dare
Face evil with goodness, you’ll always win
The Lord rewards your patience everywhere
